But JeLa’s healing journey did not end with professional success. Around 15 years ago, she reached an emotional breaking point and realized she needed to separate herself from her parents in order to begin rebuilding her life. That decision led her into therapy, where, for the first time, she felt truly seen, heard, and understood. Over time, therapy helped her confront the wounds of her past and gradually learn how to receive the love being offered by her husband, children, friends, patients, and the people who continued to stand beside her.

Music became another powerful part of that transformation. JeLa first learned to play guitar while attending medical school, then returned to music years later when her children were young. What began as a creative outlet developed into a deeper pursuit as she studied piano, songwriting, music production, and music. Through both therapy and music, she found new ways to process her pain, express emotions that had once remained buried, and transform the wounds of her past into healing, connection, and purpose.
